Privacy policy

Who is responsible
Richard Patey, trading as BidPadel, is a self-employed operator. Correspondence address: Bishopbrook House, Cathedral Ave, Wells BA5 1FD, United Kingdom. Email: richard@richardpatey.com. We are the controller of personal information used to operate BidPadel.
Information we collect and why
Public listings contain business names, websites, logos, categories, descriptions and bid totals. These come from public business websites, directories and submissions. Where this identifies an individual, our legitimate interest is providing an accurate business directory. Contact us to correct or remove your information.
Ownership claims include your name, work email, role, public evidence link, notes and confirmation of authority. We use these to review claims, prevent impersonation and respond to requests, based on our legitimate interests in protecting the directory. Claim details are not published.
For paid bids, we store the business, amount, payment status, timestamps and Stripe transaction identifiers to deliver promotion, reconcile payments and handle disputes. Our bases are performance of our contract and compliance with applicable accounting obligations. Stripe collects payment and billing details directly. We do not receive or store your full card number or security code.
Our hosting and payment providers process technical information such as IP addresses, browser details and request logs for delivery, security and fraud prevention. We use contact correspondence to answer enquiries and manage our service.
Providers and international processing
Netlify provides hosting, database storage and form handling. Stripe processes payments and may act as an independent controller for its own regulatory and fraud-prevention purposes. Information may be processed outside your country, including in the United States, under applicable provider contractual safeguards. Contact us for information about the safeguards relevant to your data. We may also disclose information to advisers or authorities where necessary for legal obligations or claims. We do not sell personal information.
See Netlify’s privacy notice and Stripe’s privacy notice.
Cookies and browser storage
BidPadel does not currently add advertising trackers or marketing analytics. Hosting, form security and Stripe Checkout may use storage or cookies needed to provide and secure their services. Stripe’s own notice explains its checkout technologies. Following a business link takes you to a separate website with its own privacy practices.
How long we keep information
Public business information is kept while the listing remains relevant. Claim evidence and correspondence are retained for the review and any related dispute or impersonation risk, then reviewed for deletion. Transaction records are retained for applicable tax, accounting and legal requirements. Security logs follow our providers’ retention arrangements. Retention depends on the purpose and any outstanding legal requirement; you can request deletion or ask about a specific record.
Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you can request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your personal information, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. These rights have exceptions, including records we must retain by law. Email us to make a request; we may need to verify your identity. You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office or your local data protection authority.
Updates
We will update this notice when our practices change and show the revision date here.
